About Us
Our Mission

Raw Acts is a Highlands-based scratch night initiative for people aged 16+ designed to foster creative talent. We are currently a volunteer-led company with a view to becoming a community-interest company. Raw Acts provides a platform for artists to show their work, receive feedback and connect with industry professionals and peers. The event emphasises inclusivity, fair pay and accessibility. Raw Acts is not your typical scratch night; it's a multidisciplinary art platform that goes beyond traditional theatre.
Raw Acts provides networking opputinties and a focus on career development. Raw Acts is more than a performance night - it's a space for connection, growth and celebrating the vibrant creativity of the Highlands.
If you need further help developing your piece, let us know (see our backgrounds), or we can signpost you to the relevant people.”

OUR Policys
-
We prioritise applications within the Highlands. However, if you have strong connections to the highlands, we will also consider this.
-
We ask that during your performance on and off stage to be professional and respectful of others.
-
We will pay acts when we can, as we are currently relying on funding and may not always get the full amount. However, if we can provide pay it will be in line as much as possible with Creative Scotland's fair pay rates and will be above the national minimum wage.
-
Applications will be reviewed by both producers, if we cannot agree on an application, we will consult professional advice.
We laid out these terms so we know what career stage applicants are at, allowing us to have a wide range of talent and experience levels.
-
How do we identify emerging artists?
-
With some experience, whether unpaid or self-led.
-
Done some work within their field.
-
Entry-level artists with very little to no experience.
-
-
If you have done substantial professional work, we would still encourage you to apply.
